Searching Terms

Keyword v Subject searching

Keyword searching is when you begin with words you know.  As you see results and learn more about your topic your vocabulary will increase.  This is the start of moving from keyword searching to subject searching.  Articles will have many words.  Keyword searches bring back results on all those articles containing the words you've used.

A subject is an indexed term.  Each article has only a handful of subjects; they indicate what the article is really about. A Subject search will return results that are focused on the subject.
