Course Description

HIM335 will help you learn health information systems and network with lab. You will do the following.

  • Evaluate the implementation, migration, and integration of systems in health care.
  • Review key issues and challenges in health care information systems.
  • Examine the usage of Clinical Decision Support Systems in health care.
  • Assess the security and privacy issues in health care delivery systems.
  • Explore the driving factors and barriers of health system's interoperability and optimization.
  • Gain an overview of big data analytics and artificial intelligence in health care.
  • Review the impact of consumer health informatics tools on digital communication information acquisition, delivery of care, and clinical decision-making.
  • Evaluate the role of health IT applications in supporting revenue cycle management, enterprise content management, and population health.
